Reinforced Gummed Paper Tape 70mm x 305m (3") – extra-wide, heavy-duty water-activated paper tape designed for sealing large, heavy cartons and export shipments.

Size: 70 mm wide x 305 m long. Supplied in rolls of reinforced gummed kraft paper.

Material & Adhesive

  • Material: High-strength kraft paper with glass fibre reinforcement threads running through the tape for added tear and burst resistance.
  • Adhesive: Water-activated starch-based adhesive. When moistened, it penetrates the carton surface and bonds with the fibres, creating a permanent, tamper-evident seal.

This combination makes the tape ideal for heavy, high-value consignments and long-distance or export shipping.

How to Use

  1. Load the roll into a gummed paper tape dispenser (manual or electronic).
  2. The dispenser moistens the adhesive as it dispenses the tape.
  3. Apply a single central strip along the carton seam. For very heavy boxes, use an H-seal pattern (one central, two cross strips).
  4. Press firmly to activate the bond.

FAQs

  • Q: Is this tape fully recyclable?
    A: Yes – the kraft paper and starch adhesive can be recycled with the cardboard box. The internal glass fibre reinforcement is present in very small amounts and does not usually prevent recycling.
  • Q: Why choose 70 mm instead of 48 mm?
    A: The extra width gives a larger bonding area and more strength on big or heavy cartons, reducing the risk of seam failure.
