Extra strength green polyester (PET) strapping with cardboard cores, 16mm wide x 1750 metres in length, with a 440kg brake strain. The thickness of the strap is 0.7mm. Coil weight is 23.7kg. Polyester strapping, also known as PET, is ideal for heavy duty applications and heavy-weight goods, as an alternative to steel strapping. It offers better mechanical properties than steel banding and less damage to the goods/pallets, giving it enhanced performance qualities. Polyester strapping also has a high elastic memory and retains significantly higher tension than other solutions, such as polypropylene (PP) strapping. It also has high tear resistance properties (with a brake strain of 440kg), is heatproof, UV resistant, and made from 100% recycled material making it an eco-friendly product. All 16mm polyester (PET) strapping should be used with strapping tools for polyester strapping (heavy duty 16mm sealers and tensioners), and serrated seals
16 mm PET Strapping – 1750 m x 0.7 mm – high-strength polyester strapping, a safer alternative to steel in many applications.
Size: 16 mm width x 1750 m length, 0.7 mm thickness, coil weight approx. 23.7 kg. Pack of 5 coils.
Best For
- Heavy pallets and loads where PP is not strong enough.
- Replacing steel strap with a safer, non-corrosive option.
- Loads that may settle over time – PET retains tension better than PP.
Key Features
- High tensile strength comparable to light-gauge steel strapping.
- Less spring-back and safer to cut than steel.
- Designed to be used with serrated PET seals or friction-weld tools.
FAQs
- Q: Can PET replace steel in all cases?
A: PET can replace steel in many applications, but for extremely sharp or ultra-heavy loads, steel may still be required. Always check your load requirements.
