Corner Profiles Edge Protection
Protect vulnerable edges and corners in transit with rigid, recyclable corner profiles. Prevent crush damage, strap marks and impact chips on boxed goods, furniture, appliances and palletised loads.

What are corner profiles?
Corner profiles are right-angled edge protectors (often rigid laminated board or foam-lined formats) that fit over box corners and product edges. They spread compression loads, deflect knocks and present a clean edge for strapping and stretch-wrapping.
When should I use them?
Choose corner profiles whenever stacking strength, strap pressure or impact risk could crush outer corners—especially for furniture, appliances, framed goods, printed cartons and palletised shipments.
Typical uses
Palletising: Add profiles to carton corners before stretch wrapping for tighter wraps with less crush risk.
Strap protection: Place profiles under strapping to prevent strap-cut and maintain box geometry.
Appliances & furniture: Guard vulnerable edges; combine with cardboard sheets as face pads.
Export & 3PL: Improve survivability across multi-leg routes and hub stacking.
Benefits & features
Crush resistance
Reinforces corners to handle vertical loads and strapping tension without deforming cartons.
Damage reduction
Absorbs knocks at the most vulnerable points—cutting dents, splits and returns.
Recyclable options
Commonly paper-based and widely recyclable; choose grades to match load and budget.
Which profile shape?
L-Profiles
Right-angle protectors that cap outside corners; ideal under wrap/strap and for stacked cartons.
U-Profiles
Channel-shaped for edges; hug board or product edges (shelves, panels, frames) for continuous protection.
Corner Caps & Pads
Pre-formed corner pieces (often foam/board) that clip on quickly—great with stretch wrap or tape.
Compare edge protectors
| Type | Best for | Pros | Consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corner Profiles (L) | Carton/pallet corners | Fast to place, strong corner reinforcement | Edge spans between corners still need support |
| Edge Profiles (U) | Long edges, panels, frames | Continuous edge cushioning | Use with corner caps for full perimeter |
| Corner Caps/Pads | Quick clipping on fragile corners | Very quick application | Less continuous protection along edges |
| Cardboard Sheets | Face protection & layer pads | Distributes load; protects surfaces | Doesn’t protect outer corners by itself |
For heavy or fragile loads, pair corner profiles with double wall outers and stabilise with stretch wrap and strap where needed.
Application tips
Fit before wrapping: seat corner profiles square to the carton; then add stretch wrap to lock them in place.
Strap over profiles: profiles spread strap pressure and prevent cut-in—use sufficient tension without crushing.
Add face pads: place cardboard sheets on faces to improve stacking and puncture resistance.

Cardboard Boxes sized to your load.
Pallet Boxes for bulk/oversize items.
Packing Tape and corner taping for added security.
Corner Profiles – FAQs
L-profiles protect outer corners; U-profiles protect the full length of edges. Many packs use both: U along edges, L on the four corners.
Paper-based board profiles are widely recyclable. Remove any non-paper components and keep materials clean and dry.
Match the leg lengths to the carton edge height you want to cover. Ensure sufficient thickness/grade for expected stacking and strap tension.
Yes—fit profiles first, then wrap and strap. Profiles distribute pressure and reduce cut-in from straps.
No—profiles protect the outside geometry. Still use internal protection such as bubble wrap or paper bubble where needed.
Use U-profiles for continuous edge protection on long items (panels, frames). Corner caps protect corners only and are faster to apply.
